Is there justification in Hindraf rally? an analysis
dear frens, the protest by indian youths was a good thing as itgave them an opportunity to release the collectivepent up anger which was worked up boiling point. thegovt shud not be unduly worried besides they must havelearnt from the many protests held by umno youth andpas against the foreign embassies. it is natural forsome in the such protests to go overboard and breakthe law.the protest will help to reduce crime among indianyouths as they have become politically aware. we dont need anymore protest. we need to get down towork.if we analyse the protest well, it will show thathindraf leaders tapped into the latent anger of theindian community over many years due to mainly MICsstupid and ignorant leadership over teh decades. whenwe accompany somebody to a crime, we become accused ofthe crime even if we did not participate in the veryact of the crime. and so the barisan nasional becomesa partner to the stupid even criminal leadership ofMIC.eg the maika holdings scandal.the protest was due to the failure of MIC and the govthas to bear teh resposnsibility for alllowing the rotin MIC to happen over the decades. perhaps thecomponnent parties ie UMNO, MCA,GERAKAN PPP, ETClistened too much to the lies of samyvellu. the factis MIC is teh most corrupt political party in thecountry. thats where much of teh problem of the indiancommunity arose over teh decades.i come from a rubber estate and my roots are alwaysthere. life is not that bad in the in the planatationsexcept that the workers neither own the land nor tehhomes they live in . when the plantation land weretaken up for development, the workers were thrown intothe urban slums. and suddenly the crime rate ofindians began to rise concluding in the kg.medanriots. MIC shud have placed home ownership for the workersand urban poor as well. this is crucial for raisingehalthy families and kids. besides, what ahrm couldhappen to teh country if teh plantation workers weregiven small plots of land for cattle or goat farmimgby teh big greedy planantion groups. we are talkingabout workers whose skill is realated to agriculture.how could the the plantation groups and MIC be soignorant about the needs of this group and tehproblems that may arise in the future.the damage doen to the planation workers by tehcarelessness and stupidity of SIMEDARBY, GUTHRIE,IOIETC ETC and MIC will take years to rectify.IT is this problem of latent anger that hindraf tappedinto causing the protest. the protest is excellent forthe people and teh country as it gave the youths tovent their anger.as for uthayakumar etc in hindraf- being lawyers youshud know about property laws governing any structureincluding buildings of worship ie they need to haveland title. many of the hindu temples dont ahve titlesand you shud be working with bodies like malaysianhindu sangam and the govt to get land titles. and alsowork for the orderly cosntruction of hindu temples.as for MIC, barisan nasional must have learnt a lessonthe hard way that MIC ought to be checked. tehres notransparency or democracy at all or even welcome forpeople with ideas. i gave a report to samyvellu 12years ago on ways to assists planation workers. it wasunder " society for the advancememnt of planationworkers" . he saw the report ad said good. he gave merm 500 for the effort which i took on the believe thatmy effort was recognised. i told him him that i expecthim to call me to work in MIC. but this supposed man-is so bloody corrupt that he totally ignnored me. isuppose this is what he would have done over the last28 years as MIC leader to any ideas from the centralworking committtee ie CWC.hindraf leaders have shot themselves in the foot. howcould you as lawyers show disrespect to the King andappeal to the british Queen. besides, indians inmalaysia have been given representation in the govtover the last 52 years beginning in 1955. you guyshave much to answer.and to use words like ethniccleansing is illegal.but my heart and soul is with the protesters as theprotest wasnt a religious or racial. it is GOD sentprotest against the corruption in MIC whichunfortunately UMNO,MCA,GERAKAN,PPP ETC have becomepartners unwitingly.it is the corrupt politics of MIC that caused thecrime among indian youths that also spilled over intothe other communities. what the govt ought to do now is tos et up a multiracial committee to look into the community's problem.leaving to MIC or hindraf alone is dangerous. thereare many other indian organisations as well. but itwould be good idea to invite existing MIC leaders andother leaders in hindraf as well such as kp samy aswell once they have cleared their court matters. thank you. --- Arokianathan Michael
